ŽEMAITKIEMIS PALACE (BABTYNAS)
You can see the roofs of Žemaitkiemis Palace Babtynas on the right bank of the Nevėžis, 2 km to the southwest from Babtai. The palace was established by the Šiukšta in the XVI century. The general Vladas Nagevičius bought this palace in the period of the Independent Lithuania.
The businessman Mindaugas Šventoraitis purchased the palace in 1999 and started refreshing this rich art and cultural centre. The buildings and green plants, parterres, tree alleys and chapel piles having signed the corners of the territory of the palace some time ago are being restored.
Elite art events are held there – these are concerts of Pažaislis music festival and painting in the nature.
The palace is famous for its collections of the old transport technology.
