Description

"That my house will be full" (Lk 14. 23)

The Full House community is a Catholic communion, first of all uniting the cast-offs and despaired ones, the believers, ones craving to testify the hope for salvation, constantly striving to resume in the Spirit, to mature for Christian mission and serve together for the revival of Catholic Church in Lithuania.

We gathered in Nemunaitis parish of ‘The Birth of Blessed Virgin Mary’ (Kaišiadorys diocese). For the time being we live in the parsonage and some buildings of the parish in Nemunaitis. We hold a hope to settle permanently in some remote place one day. We live relying on Gods grace, donations of the supporters and our own work. First of all we strive to learn to help the unfortunate, distressed, addicted ones and etc.

Life in the community is clearly defined by the Statute, Regulations, Schedule and Inner life rules. Every morning and evening we have Gods Liturgical hours, everybody takes part in the Mass, various spiritual practises, as well studies and works. We constantly work on raising faith and humanitarian sophistication. Moreover, we go on trips, organize various cultural programmes. The community has formed several brothers that have declared permanent commitment and a group of students for for the priesthood in St. Joseph seminary in Vilnius. Besides contributed to self-formation of some other seminarians.

The committed brothers, ones preparing to devote, the wards or persons under rehabilitation constitute the community.

The Board is the top administrative body of the community. The founder and the committed brothers are the members of it.

The stronger and healthier members of the community deepen their Christian mission, testify and raise the faith in sharing everyday troubles, misery, joy and prayer with the weaker ones.

The community has its own sign and garment. Our motto is – GRACE and FAITHFULNESS.

The mission of the Full House community is to ensure that a distressed person, living in the community would be evangelised, adopt the faith, reject the addictions and prepare to return to substantive life or vow to the service to God.

From the very beginning of our activity a lot of people that visited us or lived here faced firsthand experience of testifying Christian life, came in peace with God and the Church, regained balance of soul and hope for life.

We started our activity in 1997. We seek to be a sign of God’s grace for the despaired ones and cast-offs through common Christian life experience (conf. Lk 14, 16 - 24). Lord`s desire „That my house will be full“ (Lk 14, 23), full of hopeful Gods grace even for the weakest and despaired, became the inspiration of this community. Here is the origination of the title – the Full House community.

In the summer of 1999 we presented the draft of the Statute of our community to His Excellency bishop of Kaišiadorys, as well as the rules of staying and received his approbation to found the community. The bishop of Kaišiadorys, Juozapas Matulaitis, patronized the community form the very beginning and on July 2, 2001 validated the Statute and conceded the status of ecclesiastical juridical body.

From the Whit Sunday of 1999 up till now approximately one hundred people stayed with the community for at least a month.

Arrival to the community should be arranged beforehand. A longer stay is possible after the trial period. In 1-3 months, if of impeccable behaviour, and if wishing himself, the parson may submit an application to the Board to become exploring the mission or the educated (it takes from 6 months to 2 years). The ones who pass the training program successfully may submit an application to become the called ones (formation of the called ones may take from one to two years). Once accepted to the called ones, members put on the garment of the community. Later on, the called ones take temporary (form one up to three years) vows for common life and mission. Finally, after unanimous approval of the members of the Board, young men take permanent vows and commit to stay together for the rest of their lives, testify the Evangel and redeem the mission of the community. Liturgical ceremony introduces into all stages.

First of all young men between 18 and 30 are accepted to the community.

The door of our home is open to You. You are most welcome.
